I am using Digiguide->Dabdig->Webscheduler.

Is it possible to prevent the web browser from

launching when Dabdig passes data to Webscheduler?[web browser launches 10 mins before a recording ]

By default it simply runs whatever program is associated with "http://" on your machine.

However, you could prefix the http:// part with the name of another program that could perform the http operation.

e.g. wget (search the net) might work or Lynx - or maybe there is a command line option to IE to make it run minimised.

With Lynx - this might work ...

WebschedulerURL=c:\somewhere\lynx -dump http://localhost:8429/servlet/ScheduleDataRes?captype=2&type=0&Submit2=Submit&action=03&

(you would also have to copy the lynx.cfg file to the same directory as DABDig)

I could probably implement the sending of the URL natively within DABDig. I'll have a look next week-end.

I have emailed you a version that tries to avoid launching the web-broswer (once you configure it that way).

OK - good.

It is very simplistic in its approach and doesn't handle Proxy set-up - but my guess was that it is probably all on same machine/LAN anyway so this would not matter.

Just tried latest 2.56b29 - web browser is launching again!

Looks like the "fix" in b22 has been omitted from b29?

Is this supposed to work with the Nebula web scheduler? I've had to start using it because under Vista I can't get DigiTV to pick up the schedules from the registry.

The NEBULADIGITVWEBSCHED=1 entry works but having the browser open for ever recording is very annoying.

It doesn't apply to it at the moment - but I can make it do it.

I'll send you a note when done (probably during Sunday).

Alternate route would be to make sure that DABDig is able to write to the Nebula registry area. Maybe Vista is blocking it and only giving it a special sort of access and not saving it back to disk.

Note sure how that works - but I got a Vista machine last week so will have a look.

I have sent you an update via email.

However, I suspect that the problem with the timer entries not being picked up could also be a bug in DigiTV .. this has happened a few times in various builds of DigiTV and is why I still run an old build (at least I did until my machine broke a few weeks ago and my new one doesn't have a full height PCI clot to use).
