Hi,

I am able to succesully configure DABDig plugin for myHTPC using winfast xp2000 expert. The winFastPVR version I have writes the schedule information to the .dat file and I enabled the flag in the DABdig.ini to write to .dat file. And it is writing as expected and I see schedule in winFastPVR also. But my problem is, winFastPVR has recording profile( MPEG2 Good Quality, MPEG2 Optimal Quality, DVD like that) which is also mentioned in .dat file to tell the winFast scheduler what profile to use to record the program.

But I DABDig is not mentioning that in schedule information, so winFastPVR is picking up lowest( or the first profile) in the profile list( which is mpeg1 profile).

So, I am wondering, How can I pass the recording profile(or compression info) info also? And another thing, DABDig is prompting everytime that winFast scheduler is running and need to stop it. I want it to be automatically do that without prompting.( It is problematic as I use remote with myHTPC).

Any help would be highly appreciated. Smile

Thanks

I forgot to mention, that I tried to use

LEADTEKTVTYPETOCOMPRESS property with different values with strings (M2N, M2G) and also tried with Numeric values as it is mentioned in the notes. But that did not help. I looked in to plugin script, it does not look like it takes that argument at all. I do not know if it is read by dabdig.vbe(I think so).

Help Please !!!

Thanks

First thing to do is restore the original values in the Compress field in dabdig.ini

(easiest way - delete the line and just run dabdig once by hand .. it will put them back).

Then change DEFAULTEXTENSION to match the one that you want to use.

The order of the fields is significant - should be the same as the GUI in Leadtek WinFast.

On some versions ... the actual letters are important but ISTR that they changed that in more recent versions.

It is possible to override the type from the command line - but unfortunately you have no way to invoke it per programme from myHTPC (it is possible to do it from DigiGuide).

Have a fiddle with these fields from the INI file

LEADTEKALLOWFORCEEXIT=1

LEADTEKSHUTDOWNGUIAFTERPROGRAMME=0

LEADTEKSHUTDOWNGUIAFTERPROGRAMMETIMER=30

Also - have a go with setting USELEADTEK=0 and USETVPI=1 to see if it works better for you. (The Leadtek software usually makes itself a TVPI/TVVI consumer)

Thanks for such a quick replySmile

I am going to try your suggestion tonight( I am at work right now Frown ) by setting LEADTEKTVTYPETOCOMPRESS back to original values and setting DEFAULTEXTENSION to mpg.

But still my doubt is, Extension is same for mpeg1 and mpeg2, so how it is going to affect recording profile? In the winFast .dat file I see actual recording profile(Mpeg Profile) name in all schedules I make using winFastPVR. Though I see numbers as icons besides the profile name in GUI.

I actually recorded couple of shows last night using your plugin thru myHTPC. They recorded fine, though it is in mpeg1.(DEFAULTEXTENSION is left with default value mp2!??)

Anyways I will update my findings tonight.

Thanks once again!

Yes, I saw those properties later. I will try to set 2 (2=Yes and do not ask me) and see how it works.

To use as TVPI/TVVI consumer, I doubt it(as I Originally configured GotTV plugin). I know LeadTek software is associated with TVPI files, But did not work before with default myHTPC EPG plugin.(I am not sure where the actual TVPI/TVVI file is created by default plugin) I may try using your plugin once and see, how it works.

I will update you with my findings.

Thanks

Don't set it to "mpg" - you have to pick one of the values in LEADTEKTVTYPETOCOMPRESS

e.g. M2N

That is because DABDig could not find MP2 in LEADTEKTVTYPETOCOMPRESS so it set it to a default value.

My forcing a shutdown on the Leadtek software is pretty aggresive. It does seem to work (so people tell me) but I think it is really only viable for unattended recording. It is too messy if you use this method to switch channel (probably better to somehow link the Remote Control commands to the application.

Interesting. Maybe they have updated their software and only take encrypted TVPI files now. (TitanTV moved to encryped a while ago but so far I have only found one TVPI consumer that only takes the encrypted form (that I cannot generate).)

Hooo. I finally able to get MPEG2 recording and promptimg turnedoff.

Thanks you verymuch for the help. Big Grin

I did not try TVPI option yet, But I will try and update you with result.

Other thing I want to try is, try selecting recording profile I created in winFastPVR.

Thanks

Try this ... make a list of the profiles from the Ledtek GUI.

You should find that the first 8 or so match the names in dabdig.ini (in the old days - they all matched but Leadtek changed a few things).

Then, where differences start to appear, make the list in dabdig.ini the same as in the Leadtek GUI. It doesn't matter what you call them as long as they are unique.

Invent your own acronym for the one that you created - e.g. MY1

Then set DefaultExtension to the one that you want to use.

Basically it is an ordered list and the newer Leadtek software simply uses a number to look them up (the older software really used the 3 letter codes that I have in the dabdig.ini file).

Yep, That idea sounds good. I will try it and let you know(though it is tough one as the recording schedule pushed by DABDig does not contain that name, it is only sequence) I may create a profile with specific Constant Bit Rate profile and see.

And for simulating remote commands, it is an excellent idea.

Infact, we do not need to simulate that completely. We just need to set the focus on the winFastPVR window and simulate keystrokes.

I am currently using AST/Logitech com port remote to control all functions of winFast also( as winfast only can control winFast).

It works like Universal Remote.(for WinFastPVR,PowerDVD,PowerVCR, Mediaplayer,myHTPC and standard PC functions). And I also programmed some functions those are not supported by winFastPVR(forwarding while TimeShifting).

The Way IR Assistant works is, it sets the focus to EXE or the window and executes the Keybaord and mouse commands.

In our case Keyboard simulation is good enough as almost all functions can controlled by Keyboard for WinFastPVR.

Thanks

OK - sounds good.

(there is some keybroad sending code in parts of DABDig - for example I use it in the TVPI/TVVI stuff)

Hoo.. I am able to get Custom recording profile working. As you suggested I gave arbitary names for custom profiles in dabdig.ini file and selected it in default profile.Though winFastPVR writes the Recording profile name in .dat file(if it is created by winFastPVR)As you said winFastPVR is following that enumeration only to select that profile. Which is good. Thanks for the great tip..

Smile

Let me know if you want to try sending those keystrokes, I can experiment with it.

Thanks
