Has the problem with running wavefinder on xp sp2 been fixed yet?

Or must I confiner my wavefinder to the great big bin in the sky?

Sorry - it remains an issue.

I am about to get a 2nd Wavefinder - which I can then plug into an XP SP2 machine so that I can play a bit more. However, I don't expect much luck.

There is a reported solution if you have some more spare money and your machine is fast enough.

Basically - install VMWare 5 and run Win2K in it. (I mentioned it in the FAQ in mid-April - and nothing better has turned up since - http://www.spidersweb.freeserve.co.uk/dab/wffaq )

Others (like me) keep a machine with an old OS on it to keep the thing runnng.

Hmmm, I may try that. I do have a very fast computer, so it may work.

I would not want to buy the s/w unless it worked though, so will look for a copy to evaluate before buying.

I did have an old P3 computer with winme, but decided that I did not have the space for it, so binned it.

Thanks for this info.

I will report how I get on.

One more question.........

Does it have to be win 2000 that runs in vmware?

Any reports of WF working with any other op s/w?

VMWare provides (or at least used to provide) a 30-day evaluation licence.

The Wavefinder itself worked on Win98 - but I don't know how well that works in VMWare.
