Hi,

I've installed GBPVR on a test machine and got DABdig with DGScript working. I'm now in the process of moving GBPVR to my proper PVR but I'm having trouble with DABDig.

I get the following error

Windows Scripting Host

Script: dabdig.vbe

Line: 9345

Char: 13

Error: You cannot add or change a record because a related record is required in table "CAPTURE_SOURCE"

Code: 80004005

Source: Microsoft Jet Database

I am using a PVR350, GBPVR works fine for setting recording via it's own EPG. My test machine was only using the analogue cable input, my proper PVR is using input via the S-Video port from a cable box. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

The GBPVR stuff is still a bit experimental ... especially as it looks like something has changed with more recent versions of GBPVR so that it doesn't spot my entries going into its scheduler if it is running at the time.

Anyway - I do want to resolve that - and it is not the problem affecting you here.

In your dabdig.ini there is a field called

GBPVRCaptureSource

I try to match that against something in the GBPVR tables - because I need to use to when I enter a scheduled item.

In theory ... you should see an entry in the dabdig.txt saying:

"Failed to find unique capture source name" plus a bit more text.

The challenge is to find what should be in GBPVRCaptureSource.

If you send me your GBPVR.mdb then I should be able to work it out (it would also be useful for me to see a real file from a user).

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the speedy reply, I got the same issue just using the Digiguide DABdig event, when I check GBPvr after setting a number of events they would appear in the recorded section as having failed. That's why I went with DGScript. Besides this functionality duplicates what I have with Showshifter and Digiguide (which I'm looking at replacing with GBPvr in order to use the SCART connection on the PVR350).

I think I fixed the problem, I was looking at sending you the MDB, I opened it inside Access to have a peak and tried a number of values in the field you suggested. One difference between my main PVR and the test one is that I installed and deinstalled a capture source a number of times. When I placed a value in the GBPVRCaptureSource field DABDig says it cannot find that source and attempts to use the default one insted, where it then fails with my original problem. I was thinking that creating and deleting capture sources may have caused one of the MDB tables to increment an index or something. I removed the MDB, reran GBPvr which repaired my setup by recreating the MDB. I've just tested it with DAB dig and it works. BTW the MDB is 192MB ), probably full of XML EPG data (and whitespace from multiple imports), if you still want it I can cut it down this weekend using Access and mail it to you zipped.

Thanks again

Glad that you got there.

Was the GBPVR Recording Service running throughout?

If so - then great - looks like things are working properly - so the other user with an on-going problem might have hit something else.

As for the 198MB file - don't go to too much trouble. However, if it is largely empty then ZIPping it might greatly reduce it in size. If you can get it down to 2-3MB without spending more than 10 minutes on it - then please do send it over.
