I recently upgraded from a Topfield PCR to a Mediacenter running dvbViewer. With the Topfield, I got used to setting up recordings remotely via my laptop (JAG & nslu2) and I'm looking to be able to do this with the dvbViewer system. All the instructions seem to relate to having Digiguide, the tuner(s) and the DABDig on the same machine. Can I use DABDig to remotely program my mediacenter?

Yes - DVBViewer needs to be on the same machine as DABDig.

However, you could try WebScheduler - which DABDig connects to via a URL.

The old free version works fine - but it is for recording only.

You would have to experiment to see if the recordings that it generates can be readily played back in your preferred viewer (I expect there to be a compatible format).
