Post reply to topic: A challenge... Win/TV PVR350 & 2 x nebula

Hi Paul, As discussed... I've bitten the bullet and just ordered a USB Nebula master and slave (plus a 4 way aerial amplifier / splitter). My intention is to leave my system as is initially (epia II with only one PCI slot running pvr350 and wintvcap and dabdig / digiguide perfectly). I want to be able to record multiple channels and obviously would prefer the nebula(s) to be the primary devices but should there be a requirement to, use the wintv as 3rd choice. Once it all turns up, I'll have a play but thought you might be able to shed some light on how I should configure dabdig to manage this (or do I just have to tell it record using device 1,2,3 etc.). mike Although it lacks the intelligence to pick the free device (at present) ... it will all work. You will have to spot when you need to failover to the pvr250 though. Basically - edit your dabdig.ini and set usenebuladigitv=1 defaultdevice=dvb and delete all of the fields that start with NebulaDigitv (so that they get automatically re-created with the most recent default settings) For the 5 channels that are available on the PVR350 - change the channel number to be DVB-1,TV-1 DVB-2,TV-2 etc Then when you schedule a recording from DABDig it will ask you if you want to use DVB or TV. It won't ask you for the other channels - but do make sure that their number matches the LCN in DigiTV. The multi-tuner support in DigiTV is very very new (bug fixes due on Monday). Once it works ... it should push the single recording request from DABDig onto a free device - automatically. Ideally - DABDig would work out which is free - but I haven't done it yet. The basics are in there (in the unreleased 2.55) because I am starting to use pending recordings file. Finding time to work on it is hard though. But with 2 Nebula tuners - both of which can record more than one programme from the same mux at the same time then I expect it will be rare that you need to go back to the PVR350. Once the DigiTV stuff is stable ... you could sell the PVR350 while it has a resale value before it becomes obselete in 2012 Edited by Paul Webster on Thursday, September 15, 2005 - 3:59:09 PMwebbo73 Paul Webster
